Description
Get kids up and moving during your preschool speech therapy sessions! Use this versatile no-prep articulation activity all year during distance learning, in-person sessions, during groups, or send for homework.
Your preschoolers and kindergartners will love finding items around their house that begin with their speech sound and showing them to you and their parents.
Each sound features 25 words: 10 nouns, 8 adjectives and 7 parts of objects*.
Use this activity to target:
- Speech sounds: Have the child say their word before and after they find the item.
- Vocabulary: There are a variety of vocabulary words featured on each sheet.
- Describing: Each sound has a list of adjectives. Have the child say their target word, and also state three other features of the item.
- First Phoneme Identification: Each sheet has an invitation to find 5 items that begin with the target sound. The child has to think of 5 words that start with their sound to find their items.
The following 20 sounds are included:
- h p b t d m n k g f v s z sh ch j l r and s-blends and th (voiced and voiceless combined).
Except Z- Z features 5, not 8, adjectives.
Ideas for use:
GROUPS: Give each student their target sound and see who can find the most items
PUSH IN: Have students find items in the classroom
HOMEWORK: Send for carryover
TELETHERAPY: Have the child find items in their home
