No. I don’t bill insurance directly, but I’m happy to provide detailed receipts that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Families are responsible for payment at the end of each session.

I offer both in-person sessions in my Strathmore home office and teletherapy. In-person is my preferred option for most children, as it allows for more hands-on, play-based activities, but teletherapy can also be a great choice - especially for families who need flexibility or live farther away.

No. I’m only licensed to practice in Alberta, so I can’t provide speech therapy, consultations, or assessments to families living in other provinces or countries.

I primarily work with preschool and early elementary-aged children. I sometimes see older elementary students as well, depending on their needs and goals.

I recommend most kids receive therapy weekly and practice at home between sessions. If families are unable to commit to regular sessions, therapy can be re-considered at another time.

Yes, speech sound disorders are my specialty. However, I also incorporate language development and phonological awareness into sessions as needed.

A speech sound disorder is when a child has trouble saying certain sounds clearly, making it hard for others to understand them. This can include:

• Articulation difficulties – when a child has trouble producing specific sounds, like saying “wabbit” instead of “rabbit” or “thip” instead of “sip.”

• Phonological delays –when a child uses predictable patterns that change groups of sounds, even though they can often physically make those sounds. For example, they might leave off ending sounds (“ca” for “cat”), replace long sounds with short ones (“tun” for “sun”), or use the same sound for several different letters (“tat” for “cat,” “dat” for “dog”). These patterns are normal in very young children but become a delay when they last longer than expected.

• Apraxia of speech – a motor planning difficulty where the brain knows what it wants to say, but has trouble planning and coordinating the mouth movements needed for speech. This can make a child’s speech inconsistent—they might say a word correctly one time and differently the next—and can cause difficulty smoothly putting sounds together.

These challenges can range from mild to more complex, and therapy focuses on helping children speak more clearly and confidently so they can be understood in everyday life.

My hourly rate is $180/hour, charged in increments of 15 minutes.
